Carol Mack OBE, chief executive

Carol is responsible to the Board for the leadership and management of ACF, and for ACF’s external relations. Carol leads on the delivery of all of ACF’s strategic objectives, ensuring that ACF supports, advocates, connects and inspires foundations effectively and sustainably. Laurence Delcroix, executive assistant

 Laurence supports Carol in all aspects of her work and ensures the effective functioning of the Executive Leadership Team. Laurence’s role is to ensure that the Executive Leadership Team is run with empathy and excellence in accordance with ACF’s values, with a high standard of service and support to Carol and ACF’s trustee board. [email protected]

 

Membership

Gemma Instrall, director of membership

Gemma oversees ACF’s membership, partnerships and events functions. She is responsible for championing the needs of our members and taking a strategic lead in ensuring ACF's services support foundations to be ambitious and effective in the way they use their resources for social good. Gemma is a Company Director of ACF's trading subsidiary. [email protected]

 

Fiona Bevans, senior events officer (interim)

Fiona leads the pre-event planning and delivery of all ACF’s network meetings, professional development programme and other ad hoc events. She is responsible for liaising with speakers, facilitators and convenors, as well as assisting participants and members with event related enquiries. Fiona also supports the delivery of policy and investment events. [email protected]

 

Katie Bower, events manager

Katie leads on the planning, scheduling and delivery of ACF’s learning and events programme. This includes ACF networks and their online communities, training and learning programme, roundtables and forums, annual conference and other emerging learning and development opportunities to ensure ACF members and delegates are supported to be ambitious and effective in the way they use their resources. [email protected]

 

Gail Cunningham, head of investment learning programme

Gail leads ACF’s investment learning programme, including activity related to the Stronger Foundations investment strand, the Social Impact Investors Group, and sharing expertise from ACF’s Official Partners with members. [email protected]

 

Judith Higgin, senior marketing and communications manager

Judith is responsible for supporting and advising the team on communicating ACF’s work to its audiences. She develops and implements marketing plans and activities to build ACF’s brand and reputation. She also has a responsibility for the effective use of ACF communications channels, including email, website and promotional materials. [email protected]

 

Inês Ribeiro, marketing and communications officer

Inês supports the team with daily marketing and communications activities. She is responsible for website maintenance and supporting the preparation of regular communications. She also supports the senior marketing and communications manager with implementing the ACF’s brand strategy. [email protected] 

 

Natasha Robinson, senior membership manager

Natasha promotes a member-focused culture throughout ACF and leads on recruiting, engaging, retaining and supporting members, so ACF engagement with them thrives. She ensures ACF builds effective and lasting relationships with members through all ACF activities and utilises and captures member insight and intelligence data, to help inform ACF's programmes of work. [email protected]

 

Hannah Uprichard, head of learning and networks 

Hannah provides leadership and operational oversight for the events team. She is responsible for the strategic direction of ACF’s events, learning and networks portfolio and leads the development of new initiatives and collaborations in this area. [email protected]

 

External affairs

Richard Hebditch, director of external affairs

Richard is responsible for managing ACF’s relationships and reputation, working with stakeholders from government, politics and civil society. Our external affairs work aims to shape the operating context for charitable foundations so that they can be ambitious and effective in maximising their social good. [email protected]

 

Jim Cooke, head of the Funders Collaborative Hub

Jim is responsible for leading the Funders Collaborative Hub, which is hosted by ACF. Through the work of the Hub, Jim helps funders to share and access information about collaboration opportunities, so they can achieve more together. He also oversees a range of resources which offer funders inspiration and practical help to make their collaborative activities as effective as possible. [email protected]

 

Joanna Pienkowska, senior policy and engagement officer

Joanna supports ACF's major programmes on foundation practice and delivers insight and analysis on issues related to the operating environment. She manages the day to day work of the Members' Policy Forum and the Funder Commitment on Climate Change, as well as supporting the implementation of the Funders Collaborative Hub. She previously worked for the network of foundation associations in Europe. [email protected]

 

Max Rutherford, head of policy and practice

Max provides strategic insight, policy intelligence and programme leadership, and enables collaboration and engagement between members. He represents the foundation sector to colleagues in civil society, the media, officials in government departments and parliamentarians, aiming to create an enabling policy and regulatory environment in which funders will most effectively achieve their missions. He serves as a member of the Charities SORP Committee. [email protected]

 

Finance and operations

David Conroy, director of finance and operations (interim)

David has oversight of the finance, IT, and HR functions to ensure ACF thrives and is sustainable over the longer term. David is responsible for statutory and organisational financial control and reporting, IT systems and business processes, and people management to support and enhance the delivery of membership and external affairs programmes. [email protected]

 

Caroline Langdell, data officer

Caroline supports the data management and administration of ACF’s membership, helping to keep our member’s information as accurate and up to date as possible. She also helps to maintain the ACF website and support with ACF events. [email protected]

 

Natasha Kousseff, finance manager

Natasha is responsible for ACF's finance function, as well as maintaining our member database. Natasha plays a role in ensuring that ACF thrives and is sustainable in supporting members over the longer term. [email protected]
