Investment seminars
We know our members want to realise the full potential of their investment assets to best fulfil their charitable and financial objectives.
Twice a year, ACF hosts two-day, in-person investment seminars, delivered in collaboration with our Official Partners and corporate partners Bates Wells and Farrer & Co.
These seminars provide an invaluable opportunity to meet fellow trustees and senior staff from endowed foundations and to feel empowered to engage in discussions about their foundation’s investments. Topics include the role of mission and values, the legal context, deciding what to spend, and the technicalities of investment – from risk and return to asset allocation and understanding costs, including the latest CC14 Guidance.
The seminars also provide a basic introduction to implementing best practice, as highlighted in the ACF publication, Investment: The Pillars of Stronger Foundation Practice.
Attendance is free for ACF members. The seminars are suitable for those new to investment as well as experienced investors who are new to the foundation context. Non-members are welcome to attend for a fee. Please note, the seminars are not open to participants who are employed in the investment consultancy or investment management industry.
Next seminars: 2-3 November 2026
The seminars will take place in central London, in person. View the draft programme.
