The ACF virtual annual conference 2021 is taking place across two short days with plenty of breaks. Make the conference your own by mixing and matching sessions and setting your own pace for each day.

Pre-conference virtual roundtable, supported by ACF’s Official Partner Cazenove on 16 September

Collective action: working together for positive impact in investment
Senior foundation representatives will be coming together for a virtual roundtable. Alongside Cazenove Charities, participants will explore how we can use collective action to create positive change through investment portfolios. We’ll consider investing for impact and using our influence to tackle people and planet themes – like anti-racism and climate change.  We’ll also think about place-based investing, for local positive impact.  A write-up will be made available to ACF members. For further information please get in touch with [email protected].

Opening plenary and Q&A
The opening plenary will look at how to support a positive and inclusive sense of identity and belonging in communities, and help tackle inequalities between and within communities, made starker and more visible by the pandemic.

It will explore:

  • What we mean by community, identity and belonging – and whether this is shared by everyone
  • How to support positive identities which give people a sense of belonging
and support common approaches to achieving change
  • How different groups in society view their identities and their ability to fulfil their potential and overcome discrimination and inequalities
  • The elements of successful policies and programmes that can support inclusive and thriving communities
  • How foundations navigate their own missions in the context of polarising social media and political campaigns .
