Introduction to grant-making

This half day session is a must for all those new to grant-making - whether staff, Trustees, or freelancers.

The session will equip you with the basics: what is a grant? Who gives them? What are the different types of foundation and how do their approaches to grant-making vary?

We will look at the grant-making cycle and cover the current trends and debates in grant-making. This is an interactive session with opportunities to meet others new to the sector.

You will also get the chance to hear from two experienced grant-makers: David Triggle-Wells (Programme Manager, Quartet Community Foundation) and Tina Gwynne-Evans (Head of Trusts, The Swire Charitable Trusts) and have the opportunity to ask them any questions you may have about grant-making.
