An introduction to impact investing in the main endowment

Is your foundation interested in exploring impact investing but unsure where to start? Covering key topics from getting to grips with the language, establishing impact and financial requirements, tailoring an investment policy, governance, and working with your existing investment managers on impact.

Designed for staff and trustees, with opportunities to hear from foundations already making impact investments.

The course will be particularly suitable for those foundations which are keen to explore impact investing in their foundation’s main endowment, either alongside an existing programme-related impact investing carve out, or as a first foray into impact investing.

Developed in partnership with the Impact Investing Institute, Charities Responsible Investment Network and Big Society Capital, with funding in 2023 from Barrow Cadbury Trust, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation, Treebeard Trust, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Clothworkers' Foundation, City Bridge Trust and Golden Bottle Trust.
