The salary will be Range 6, from £62,116 to £70,872 per annum, (London: £65,515 to £74,272, includes London Weighting), including a market supplement. The National Lottery Heritage Fund We are currently recruiting for a full time Head of Research, Data and Insight on a permanent contract based in any of the Heritage Fund’s offices in the UK (Hybrid Working). The primary purpose of this post is a leadership role responsible for the development and use of data, research and insight at the Heritage Fund. You will have overall responsibility for the development of the Heritage Fund’s research, data, insight, and evaluation strategies. We use research, data, and insight to support all aspects of our work, including strategic development; new business ideas; designing our funding portfolio and programmes; grant making and reporting; and leadership and advocacy. You will be required to build relationships at all levels and work collaboratively to ensure data, research and insight informs ideas and decision making. You will lead the insight team in commissioning work from a wide range of external research organisations through standard public procurement routes. We often work in partnership with public sector research organisations, heritage agencies, think tanks and universities on joint commissions, for example our sector-leading Heritage Pulse survey. You will lead the team in designing, commissioning, management, and dissemination of all the Heritage Fund’s research working with relevant colleagues and will analyse research findings to present them appropriately and effectively, including for our Executive and Board, and wider public sector and arms-length body (ALB) audiences, including UK and devolved governments. You will use research to make a compelling case for the impact of the National Lottery and ensure that our research is made available publicly for anyone to use and re-use, and that is effectively and efficiently disseminated using relevant research platforms and tools. You will lead the data team in the development and delivery of our data, self-service business insights (BI) and analytics function. You will champion the role of an effective data service in delivering our strategic outcomes. Working across the organisation, you will lead the further expansion of our existing BI service to promote an evidence-based culture across the Heritage Fund and our external partners. You will also deliver improvements in our external reporting of our work, via a stronger open data and public visualisation service. Applications close on 11 April 2024.
