Job Description
As Grants and Services Caseworker, you will assess applications for financial support, helping individuals experiencing financial hardship by reviewing their circumstances and determining eligibility in line with the charity’s grant-making policies. You will analyse financial information, conduct needs assessments and make recommendations for financial assistance, while providing guidance on areas such as benefits, housing, debt and employment, or signposting individuals to appropriate support services. Using strong organisational and digital skills, you will manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate case records and use case management systems and Microsoft 365 tools to document actions, monitor outcomes and support reporting. You will also prepare recommendations for Grants Committee consideration and contribute to ensuring grant-making policies and processes remain effective and up to date. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you will approach each case with empathy, sound judgment and professionalism. Above all, you will ensure all interactions with beneficiaries are supportive, respectful and confidential, recognising the complex and often challenging circumstances individuals may be facing. You will also use your strong organisational and digital skills to support other departmental programmes and projects such as developing new ad hoc small grants programmes, new service delivery partnerships and operational efficiency projects. You will also assist the Director of Welfare and Grants to prepare papers for the Grants Committee meetings. Full job description is available.
